Seerley Park, nestled within a historic neighborhood adjacent to the University of Northern Iowa, just completed an amazing transformation. RITLAND+KUIPER was entrusted with the task of seamlessly marrying tradition and modernity in the park's revitalization. Through extensive community engagement, RKLA harnessed local insights to shape a vision that will breathe new life into this cherished space. The park master plan includes the creation of an inclusive playground, thoughtfully designed to harmonize with the University of Northern Iowa's aesthetic. We also enhanced accessibility with upgraded pathways, ensuring ease of movement throughout the park. The playground was shaped to fit into landforms that provide visual interest and multiple levels of play. Boulders and plant beds embrace the playground and perimeter fencing provides comfort to parents with small children at play. To add to its allure as a social hub, a new central gazebo and event lawn will provide space for community gatherings. Construction was completed in 2025.
